Join Our Team as a Safety Officer (SHO)

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Develop, establish, and review the workplace safety management policies and standard for all  the operating sites to ensure that it is always following relevant statutory requirements.
  • Identify potential risk safety; track safety & health performance indicators and trends and ensure  compliance with OSHA.
  • Establish, liaise with client to maintain overall policies, and procedures and ensure the safety of  operating all machines and equipment in the plant.
  • Conduct and lead safety and health committee meetings regularly to ensure management and  employees are aware of hazards.
  • Advise the employer, EHS Committee Chairperson or any person in charge of the workplace on  measures to be taken in the interest of safety.
  • Investigate any accident, near miss accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning, or  occupational disease.
  • Assist the company in COVID-19 management including workplace and hostel inspection, policy  development and provide support on task assigned.
  • Control, monitor, enforce, implement & improve Safety, Health & Environmental related matters  with respect to departmental occupational Safety & Health Malaysia requirements.
  • Inspect the workplace to determine if machinery, plant, equipment, substances, appliance, and  process at the workplace are safe for the work environment.
  • Participates in the review of site facility layouts, designs, modifications regarding life safety  requirements, applicable codes, regulations, and Equipment/Tool EHS requirements.
  • Develops, plans, and implements site environmental, health and safety procedures/programs  and ensure alignment with corporate EHS Polices, goals, objectives, and customer requirement.
  • Responsible to update any new regulation announced by ministry or authorities relating to safety  and health that are complying with the company’s safety and health management system.
  • Submit accurate regulatory and performance metric reports as required including but not limited  to JKKP6, JKKP8, CIMS.
  • Any ad-hoc assignments and other related tasks assigned by Management / immediate superior.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • At least Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, certificate of safety and health officer organized by NIOSH or other education institution recognized by DOSH.
  • Registered with DOSH as Safety Officer (Valid SHO Registration with DOSH).
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience with safety and health matter.
