AME Elite Consortium Berhad has confirmed that global pharmaceutical technology provider Colorcon Inc will be investing in i-TechValley at SILC.
Colorcon’s subsidiary Colorcon Malaysia Sdn Bhd will build the pharmaceutical leader’s first manufacturing facility in Southeast Asia. The facility would complement its existing 11 plants in Japan, China, and India in the Asia Pacific, as well as in the United Kingdom, France and North America. Colorcon produces specialty excipients for solid oral dosages in the pharmaceutical and nutritional industries.
The new manufacturing facility in i-TechValley, with an estimated built-up area of 90,000 square feet on a 6-acre land, is expected to be operational in 2025. It will enhance Colorcon’s production capabilities to meet the growing demand for high-quality and innovative film-coating products by pharmaceutical and nutritional companies in Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Taiwan, and Pakistan.
The new manufacturing facility will adhere to rigorous IPEC Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards and obtain Halal certification, ensuring the production of safe and high-quality products. Additionally, the facility’s architectural design will include sustainable elements that make it eligible for Green Building Index (GBI) certification and LEED certification.
